It’s time for the September Monthly MashUp (MMUp) mash-a-long! Today we’ll go over the pattern pieces needed for the mash-a-long and open the link up. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway to win the patterns for yourself and as a reminder the Alley Cat Daydream mash-a-long schedule is:
Thursday 9/4: Introduce the patterns and open the giveaway (giveaway ends on 9/17 at midnight EST)
Thursday 9/11: Reveal the MashUp, alter the patterns, and open the link up (open until 9/24 at midnight EST)
Thursday 9/18: Begin sewing the MashUp with the Giveaway winner announced on Facebook and Instagram
Thursday 9/25: Share the details of the MashUp and features from the link up
Doesn’t it look dreamy? See Kate Sew‘s Daydream Ruffle Dress skirt mashed with the bodice of the Lil Luxe Collection‘s (*affiliate link) Alley Cat Romper is a perfect combination.
The knit bodice is snug and comfortable, fully lined, and has that dramatic back neckline. The ruffled skirt has a high low hemline which is accented with an additional ruffle. There is just enough poofiness to make it look like a cloud.
The best part of this MashUp is that there are NO alterations that need to be made to the pattern pieces. All you need is the two patterns. The specific pieces you’ll need from each of the patterns is in the graphic above. If you already have the patterns, then find a chance to make a muslin of both so you’ll know the correct size to use. I used size 3t for both of the patterns and the fit is perfect so that’s the size I used for my MMUp. If you haven’t purchased them yet you can still get the Alley Cat Romper at a 20% discount using the code mashup here (*affiliate link) and the DayDream Ruffle Dress here. And of course the giveaway is open until the 17th so there’s still time to enter to win your copies.
Next week in the mash-a-long I’ll go over how to sew the MMUp together, but in the meantime the Link Up is open below. The last Thursday of September I will feature some of the linked MashUps along with more pictures of Bean in her Alley Cat Daydream and details about the fabrics I used. Feel free to Link Up ANY MashUps you’ve made in the past two months. It does not need to be clothing, but it does need to have at least two patterns that you’ve altered in some way to make a fresh look and I’d love you to share the Monthly MashUp button somewhere on your blog:
Be sure to follow the Monthly MashUp Pinterest board if you’d like some more inspiration for garments to mash.

That sprinkles (or jimmies, depending on where you are) pattern might just be the best thing I have ever seen.
