It’s the end of yet another season of Project Run & Play and though I cut it close this week, I’ve managed to sew-a-long with each theme. It’s always fun seeing what everyone in the sew-a-long creates each week.
For my signature look, I changed things up this season. I normally make some sort of tunic/hosh pants combo which is very much what Bean tends to wear on the regular. Lately though, she’s been asking for some twirly skirts so I thought I’d oblige.
I drafted (*affiliate link) a simple drop waisted dolman sleeved bodice and added two off-center circle skirt flounces. Apparently my new signature style is hobo-chic since Bean wouldn’t let me do anything with her hair, hehe.
The flounces are lined so when Bean twirls you can see a bit of the lining. I think it’d be fun with a pop of color or with piping along the edges.
Speaking of fun, there is definitely a lot of twirl in this dress. Bean was very excited. I was excited because the bodice is fully lined, including the sleeves. I sewed the sleeve mains and linings closed using the “burrito method” so they have a bit of structure. I really like a nicely finished bodice. What about you?

I love how this turned out. That is a lot of twirl action for girls who love to twirl like mine do

It's beautiful! And it looks like she loves her twirly dress which is all that really matters in the end anyway 🙂

Adorable! I love the petal effect the skirt has. Really unique and beautiful.

That overlapping circle skirt is the coolest!
