The Eleena Dress is the newest pattern from Coffee + Thread and I’m excited to show you my version on the tour today. After working hard on the Mackinaw Coat pattern for the past few weeks, it was so nice to just sit back and sew someone else’s pattern for a change.
The Eleena Dress is a 60’s-inspired A-line dress with a fun pleat detail down the front. There’s an option to have separate fabric in the pleat which is what I chose.
The only change I made to the pattern was to shorten it to a top instead of a dress. I made a size 5 and shortened about 7″ and I’m in love with how it turned out.
I made her a pair of Abby’s Trailblazing Socks (*affiliate link) from the Wolf and Tree, using a gold striped JoAnn knit. I love how quickly they sew up which makes it easy to accessorize.
The main fabrics I used for the Eleena are a Shetland Flannel in a peachy/pink/red color from Imagine Gnats and the contrast is a red interweave chambray that I had in my stash. The pleat fabric is a lovely double gauze which I also purchased from Imagine Gnats last year. I’m so pleased with how they all came together.
When I decided the peachy pinks would be the colors I’d use for this top, I found this Shetland Flannel in jet herringbone (*affiliate link) to use for a pair of Paneled Sunsuit shorts to go with it. Bean is in desperate need of bottoms and since spring weather is around the corner I thought shorts would be the best option. I love that I can whip up a pair of these shorts pretty quickly and they are super comfy for Bean. Plus I wanted a reason to pair those cute knee socks, hehe.
Can you tell she likes her new outfit? To grab the Eleena Dress pattern for yourself, it’s on sale for $7.00 through the 7th of March. Check out the rest of the tour below and don’t forget to enter the giveaway as well!
