Have you heard of Thread Faction? Their summer 2016 collection is called SS2016 and it is SO GOOD. I was thrilled to jump on the blog tour and sew these simple pieces that are perfect summer staples.
The first pattern I chose was #105. It’s a cropped sweatshirt and a style I adore for cool summer nights.
Of course in Maryland we don’t get many cool summer evenings, but it’s something that could definitely be worn on the cooler fall days. This is size 5 and I think that sweet pocket helps to pull the look together.
The second pattern is just like one I was planning to draft for Bean for back to school! #106 is a circle skirt with shorties built in and it’s just perfect. Now I don’t need to make the pattern! This fits exactly as I pictured and I know I’ll make three or four more for this summer/early fall.
The skort is size 5 as well and is just the perfect length with those shorties inside. I didn’t make any alterations to either pattern as they were both right in line with our style.
And in further “Liz is inside my head” news, the dress in this collection is super similar to the Crossover Flounce Dress *(affiliate link) I designed for One Thimble and I already have plans to rerelease it with knit options before school starts in the fall. Of course my dress is drop waisted and has the flounces, but the bodices are so much alike. I love that there are other people who share my obsession with basics with an edge, and can’t recommend these Thread Faction patterns enough.
Bean adores these two new summer looks and you can enter below to win a pattern of choice from the collection!
