One Thimble Issue 14Β (*affiliate link) releases this week (in just a few hours) and I’m thrilled to review this e-zine packed withΒ 10 fantastic patterns and 27 interesting stories/articles. Β Today I’ll share a bit about my first two issue 14 sews. This post contains affiliate links, but all opinions are mine.
The very first thing I had to make from this issue was the Thyme Vest (*affiliate link) by Paisley Roots. Β I’m a big fan of Karly’s work and this vest pattern is top notch!
I was planning to make an army green vest because every on-trend girl needs a good army green piece in her wardrobe, but then I saw the fabulous make by Angie and the one in One Thimble and thought I should showcase a different color. Β The fabric I used is more dusty pink than it’s coming through in the pics, but it’s really so good. Β I added pocket flaps to all four pockets to add a little more visual interest, but Karly is working on an add-on and will have a blog post about it up on Paisley Roots soon!
I made view B of the vest as I wanted to have the snaps show on the outside. Β With a solid color I think it helps break it up. Β I made a straight size 6 which fits great.
The back is stunning as well. Β And that hood? Β It’s designed the way I prefer with a center panel. Β It always has a much nicer fit with a center panel don’t you think?
Underneath the front snap flap there’s a separating zipper to make closing it up a breeze for little hands.
But wearing it open is probably my favorite style choice. Β Also, here’s a sneak peek at one of my new pattern designs in the works!
For underneath the vest I sewed up a Trillium TunicΒ (*affiliate link). Β Since Bean’s chest is a little small and I knew the tunic would be flowy around the hips, I sewed a size 5 to get the best fit. Β There’s a maxi dress view which I definitely need to make, but this tunic with 3/4 rouched sleeves is really sweet.
And the back has great coverage so it’s a nice option for leggings. Β Made withΒ quilting cottons, this pattern will be used a bunch I can already tell!
There are many more things to tell you about One Thimble Issue 14Β (*affiliate link), but you should hurry now to purchase this e-zine as the Early Bird Bonus ends this weekend. Β The pricing is in Australian Dollars so when you see the cover price remember that the American Dollar cost is much lower and it’s a STEAL. Β I’ll be back soon with more to share from this issue. Β In the meantime, see what other bloggers are saying on the official One Thimble e-Zine Issue 14 tour below:
