Do you ever see a pattern and just know it’s going to be well used? I felt that way when I saw the new ADVTee from Sofilantjes and Deb from Sprouting Jube Jube is hosting a tour for it this week so there’s plenty of inspiration out there for you to look at.
I love the cross over shoulder of this skinny shaped tee and it’s perfect for a staple with a little something more. I knew I’d love the look on Bean so I made two at the same time which I normally don’t do unless I’ve sewn the pattern at least once before! I’ve had those cats in my stash for ages now and finally decided to jump in and use them and I love how they look with the contrast band. The strawberries are from this summer and all of the fabrics (including the ribbings) were bought through Kitschy Coo. The snaps for the kitty shirt were from I Like Big Buttons and the ones on the strawberry shirt were in my stash. I have to praise the snaps from I Like Big Buttons for a second though cause this was the first time I attached them side by side with another type and their snaps went on MUCH more smoothly. Don’t forget that if you purchase from an etsy shop through eBates (*affiliate link) you’ll get cash back!
I’m so happy that I sewed two, because in a size 5 these will be perfect for the whole winter! We are still working on the winter wardrobe and it’s suddenly very cold here in Maryland so long sleeved tees were high on the list.
Bean had a tough decision between the strawberries and the cats and though she wavered, she ended up with the strawberries for today. She walked into school telling everyone she had strawberries on her shirt, hehe. But seriously, don’t you love that contrast band with the snaps?
There’s also a v-neck version, the sizing is 12m to 14y, and this pattern is unisex so you’ll get a lot of use out of it. For reference, Bean’s wearing hers with a Paneled Sunsuit jumper skirt which I blogged about here.
I’ll leave you with a picture of Bean “being a statue” which cracked me up, but now go check out the rest of the inspiration tour posts:
