One Thimble Issue 11 is almost here! With the release set for later today (Friday in Australia), it’s time for the Issue 11 Blog Tour to begin and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. This post contains affiliate links, but all opinions are my own.
There is SO much goodness is this issue of One Thimble (*affiliate link). You guys know I love OT, and if you’ve been following on Instagram then you also know that I have a pattern in this issue. I’ll talk more about the Crossover Flounce Dress (*affiliate link) (top right in the above pic) in a later post, but seriously, this issue is packed with a ton of great patterns and articles.
I decided for the tour I’d start by sewing up a couple of the Roly Poly Critters (*affiliate link), by Swoodson Says. I know Swoodson Says always does a great job with stuffie patterns so I was sure they’d be well designed. Also, I couldn’t pass up their sweet faces.
I stitched up the panda first and it went together so quickly, that I decided he needed a fox friend. These are made with felt which is really easy to work with.
Is anyone else on the East Coast sick of the rain yet? How many days of rain have we had now? I am beginning to think we’ll never get a decent photo shoot day again, hehe. Anyway, between rain drops Bean wanted to show the general size of the Roly Polys. I sewed them with the pattern as is, but if you wanted a bigger or smaller size I’m sure you could adjust the pattern.
Isn’t the fox adorable? I’m so happy I decided to stitch him up! I used my sewing machine for all the appliques, sewing the “ball” together, and I even did a few straight stitches in black for the mouths instead of breaking out the embroidery thread. These two came together in less than an hour which makes it a great last minute project for adding to a gift.
I used safety eyes and noses (of course) for those like Bean who are obsessed with pulling things apart. I found a bunch of options at our local JoAnn Fabrics so you shouldn’t have trouble getting your hands on them. If you want to purchase the Roly Poly Critters pattern you can do so here (*affiliate link) once released. Remember the prices are in Australian dollars, so google the exchange rate! You can also purchase the entire One Thimble e-zine here (*affiliate link). With so many great patterns and articles, the $25 AUS price (around $18.50 US as of today) is a steal.
If you have a subscription (*affiliate link) to One Thimble or purchase Issue 11 (*affiliate link) before the 16th of May, there’s a bonus incentive of these great Freezer Paper Stencils. There’s a great article about freezer paper stenciling in this issue, so you’ll find some inspiration for using these inside.
And here is Bean sneak peeking some Crossover Flounce Dress (*affiliate link) twirl action. I can’t wait for you guys to get your hands on this pattern! In the meantime, join the Designs by Call Ajaire Facebook Group and check out the rest of today’s tour dates for more inspiration:
