One of the coolest looks from Issue 13 of One Thimble is the One Romper from Filles a Maman. This post contains affiliate links, but all opinions are mine.
I was recently sent some of this great feathers fabric from the mini collection By Popular Demand by Simple Simon and it’s so soft and buttery that I wanted to make something super cozy with it. The amount sent was perfect for a One Romper (*affiliate link), so I added a bright stripe print to the sleeves and ankle cuffs (under the leaves hehe) to break up the look for a full length romper.
Bean says the romper is super cozy and doesn’t want to take it off which is great. I sewed a size 6 with the long sleeve add-on (coming soon!) and v-neck. The pattern went together smoothly and was a fun sew.
The pockets are a great size and hit just at the right spot at the hip. There’s a bit of a slouchy feel to the crotch for comfort, but it’s not a true harem which is nice. It’s cool, but not sloppy which can be tough to design so I have high praise for Mel for this awesome unisex pattern!
To get the romper on and off there’s a placket along one of the shoulders where you can add buttons or snaps. I loved the idea of a full long sleeve with metallic snaps, but really she only needs to undo two or three of the ones near the neckline to get in and out of it so the rest are mostly for show.
Bean had a blast jumping in the leaves and declares the One Romper a winner. You can purchase the pattern as a stand alone here (*affiliate link), or get the whole One Thimble Issue 13 (including my Raglan Party Dress) here (*affiliate link).
And in case you’re wondering, the hat she’s wearing is the Enid Slouch Beanie from One Thimble Issue 10 (*affiliate link).
