You guys!! I’ve been so busy with the release of the Crossroads Dress that I haven’t even shared the release of One Thimble Issue 15 (*affiliate link) with you yet! This issue has a preppy/hipster theme and is so good. I have a bunch to share with you about the Issue 15 (including an article I wrote for it!) and first up are two fantastic patterns by two of my very favorite designers. There are affiliate links in this post which means if the links are clicked and a purchase is made Call Ajaire will get a small compensation, but as always all opinions are mine.
This issue is packed full of goodies including the Miriam Skirt by Once Upon a Sewing Machine and #116 V-Neck Cardigan from Thread Faction. These two pair so well together and I’m sure you’ll see tons of pics of them filling up your feed.
Starting with #116, it’s such a lovely cardigan. Unisex, it looks just as great when worn by boys or girls. This one is size 6 in a great french terry from Raspberry Creek Fabrics and the fit is perfect since we’re headed into summer and my hope is that it’ll be worn a ton next fall.
I didn’t add any closures to the front since I learned this year that Bean seems to prefer to wear her cardis open. If I change my mind come fall it’ll be just as easy to sew some buttonholes and add some buttons, but for now I love it open. The #116 V-Neck Cardigan (*affiliate link) comes with sizes 2-10 and like all Thread Faction patterns has great instructions and sews up quickly.
Next up is the Miriam Skirt. I adore Once Upon a Sewing Machine and couldn’t wait for this pattern once I heard they were working on a pleated skirt. This one is so special with its high waist and side zip closure. I made a size 6 and it fits just perfect now, but with Bean’s hip on the larger size I may need to make a size up for the fall. Good thing this is a super quick sew. Those pleats couldn’t be easier and even the zipper install is a cinch. The Miriam Skirt comes with sizes 12M-8Y and has great instructions. You’ll love this pattern!
I thought the skirt and cardi fabrics would look great with this popcorn Crossover Dress Slim Fit Top that I made earlier this month and adore the combo. The high waist of the Miriam is perfect for tucking in a tee and making it look fancy.
You can see from the above pic just how many other fun patterns are included in Issue 15 of One Thimble, but on top of that the articles and topics are stellar. I’ve read through it all three times so far and know I’ll pick it up again. You won’t be disappointed! The whole issue can be purchased here, the stand-alone Miriam Skirt can be purchased here, and the #116 V-Neck Cardigan can be purchased here (*all affiliate links).
