Life Sew Savory is hosting a Summer Fun Series this year and we’re excited to take part!
I’ve been sharing so many swimsuits over the past few weeks, that I thought it was time to share a cover up that we love. This is the Raglan CoverUp/Nightshirt that I drafted last summer. True story: it was the original raglan shoulder pattern that the Raglan Party Dress was based on, but for the party dress I slimmed up the bodice to make it fitted and added an inverted pleat skirt.
This boxier version is meant to fit like an oversized “boyfriend” football jersey and is perfect for a swim cover up. I made a bunch of them in late summer last year out of some soft sheets and they were great as nightshirts. This one is made out of a soft lavender terry cloth that has worked well for the pool.
It can be made with the elastic around the lower chest for the cover up view or without the elastic for a looser fit which I adore. It can also be made with either woven or knit fabrics which is fun.
Keep an eye out for a tester call for this little number soon! And before you go, check out all the other fun posts that went up today and head over to Life Sew Savory for all the Summer Fun series posts…

Currently it looks like Movable Type is the best blogging platform out there right now.
(from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
